The first self-produced document in the name of Above the tree with the title Swiss Music, which featured 50 minutes of lo-fi guitar, in a mixture of samples and collages of material found, between drones and noises arranged in compositions, dates back to that year. of environmental inspiration.
2007-2011: Above the tree as a solo project
From his earliest concerts as Above the tree, Bernacchia performs disguised as a mythological figure, half man and half chicken. since 2012 he starts collaborating with different musicians with whom he gives life to Above the tree & E-side (with Mtteo Sideri) and Above the tree & Drum ensemble Du Beat (with Edoardo Grisogani, Luca Rizzoli, Stefano Orzes and Enrico Bocchini):
Since 2016 Above the tree is also co-founder of the STREGONI social project.
Over the years and with the passing of the tours it has positioned itself as a prominent entity in the European Underground scene by proposing a sound mixture between rural folk-blues and ambient music, often made up of chants and ballads, between echoes and deep drones, combined with creaks and hisses, in a mixture of sounds that critics have defined as “folktronic”.
