Carmelo Imbesi and Carmen Zangarà, a couple in art and life, are two Italian musicians, composers, and educators, appreciated
for their brilliant technique, the quality of their sound, the passion, and the elegance of their interpretative choices..
They founded their duo in 2010, refining their skills in
chamber music with Maestro Giampaolo Bandini, and
are considered one of the "most interesting chamber
realities with guitar on an international level"
(M.Today – October 2019).
They are regularly invited to perform at festivals,
concert seasons, and musical events in Italy, Europe,
and Asia. They also collaborate in theatrical
performances both as performers and as authors of
incidental music, exploring genres such as jazz,
neoclassical, and world music.
Their work as interpreters includes not only premier
recordings of new guitar music but also the rediscovery
of lesser-known and unusual works.

natural and genuine." M.Alexander | Composer

a key role in the correct execution, carried out according to the right rules of interpretation." March 2014 | Strumenti & Musica
"The two artists explored the repertoire of six historical-musical periods, showcasing the melodic, tonal, and coloristic facets as if on
a palette. Dowland, Giuliani, Albeniz, Mertz, Brouwer, and Bellinati were unified by rigorous and attentive interpretations, yet also
full of the pathos and profound understanding that characterize the duo's style." July 2019 | Ciao Classica
"An outstanding performance that captivated the audience at the Auditorium del Collegio dei Gesuiti. The notes, tones, and
percussions experimented by the two guitarists enchanted the listeners, culminating in a four-handed performance using the same
guitar." June 2019 | C. Alcamo Press Office
