In 2019 they released their first EP (self-titled), recorded at legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, thanks to a crowdfunding campaign that reached success in just 14 days. This is the mirror of a deep musical research, that “puts together 30 years of music with a result that is good, enjoyable and melodic” (Rockit).
The first single from the EP, Out of the City Pt.1, premiered by New Noise Magazine in the U.S., was awarded as “Best music video” at Roma Videoclip Awards, and was featured by VEVO in their Rock Youtube playlist alongside The Killers, Sam Fender and many more.
CLASH magazine has defined their debut EP “A delicious mixture of dancefloor burners and precocious songwriting”.
In 2019 they also released the original motion picture soundtrack from “Sturling”, a superhero movie that has already been awarded in several film festivals around the globe including Austin, Tunisia and Rome.
During Summer 2019 KEEMOSABE appear on national television for X-Factor Italy. Their elimination really spread the news about their music all around the country, entering in Italy’s top Twitter trends, and Rolling Stone referring to KEEMOSABE as “a true band in times of famine”.
In Autumn 2019 they enter in the studio for the recordings of their new album at “La Sauna” in North Italy, alongside Grammy Award winning producer Tommaso Colliva (MUSE, Calibro 35, Nova Twins, Afterhours).
Breaking down the barriers between music, art and film, Keemosabe’s sound is suitably widescreen and has seen them performing in New York, Amsterdam, Milan, London (including a live show at the legendary Studio One at Abbey Road Studios and two sold out shows at The Islington and Servant Jazz Quarters) and even at tattoo conventions! The project is designed to specifically morph through different styles in order to convey each track’s message: Alberto Curtis (vocals, guitar) and Sebastiano Vecchio (drums) studied and worked as jazz-fusion musicians in New York City from 2013 to 2016 and this freeform ethic pervades their music, despite the band being an incredibly unit. Andrea Guarinoni (keyboards) worked as a soundtrack and hip-hop producer.
With their debut album “Look Closer” (2020) KEEMOSABE carry the listener into a path of self-discovery with powerful compositions which carry profound metaphorical meanings.
We span through countless influences by listening to their music: Franz Ferdinand, Foo Fighters, John Mayer, Biffy Clyro, Tame Impala, Duran Duran, Nothing But Thieves.
The album reached over 750.000 streams on Spotify and Youtube, with a growth of over 1400% in one year on Keemosabe’s social media platforms.
During 2021, the band records a series of new singles that are set to be released throughout the next months. The first single Hey Brother, out on July 9th 2021, features football superstar from the National Dutch Football team and Inter Milan player Stefan De Vrij on the piano. The single reaches instantly great attention from the media, including appereances on Sky, 3FM, Gazzetta dello Sport Radio Freccia and many more.
