L’ultimo estratto anticipatore di “Small Talk”, Il brano abbina linee di chitarra poetiche e sfacciate alla Johnny Marr ad anti-hook snelli e spietati alla Fugazi.
“È una canzone che parla di quanto spesso siamo immersi nella bruttezza, nella stupidità e nell'autocommiserazione. Di quei momenti in cui ti chiedi: perché questo mondo non mi ascolta? Che ne è del mio dolore? Ma alla fine della giornata, se ti aspetti che il mondo cambi per te, rimarrai deluso e le continue delusioni ti porteranno ad essere una persona peggiore, più brutta, appunto. È una canzone che parla dell'accettazione di non essere nulla in questo mondo, nel modo più positivo possibile” - Leatherette.
Dal punto di vista musicale, il brano è una sorta di incontro tra no wave e new wave. Si apre con un riff di chitarra ruvido e tagliente che guida nervosamente la melodia verso un ritornello un po' più romantico, dove il sax inizia a suonare su una sinfonia di accordi jazz più morbidi. Mentre la voce ripete quello che potrebbe sembrare un mantra (o l’espressione di un attacco di panico), il brano implode lentamente, terminando con un assolo di chitarra che finisce gradualmente nel rumore.
Un altro esplosivo assaggio di quello che sarà il secondo audace, raffinato e sorprendente nuovo album della band bolognese.
