I componenti provengono da precedenti esperienze musicali: Fabio suona per 12 anni nella band indie rock Margaret, di cui è stato ideatore e fondatore; Alessia prima con Les Morceaux Anatomiques e poi con i Chloe, mentre Alessandro con i Cockpit per diversi anni.
La band si forma nell'inverno del 2014 e si trova subito a proprio agio, nonostante i membri provengano da contaminazioni e progetti musicali diversi.
Sperimentare musica insieme crea un impatto sonoro significativo, da cui nasce la personalità del suono e la direzione del progetto.
I suoni fragorosi e dinamici sono caratterizzati da chitarre taglienti e distorte, capaci però di lasciare il giusto spazio a linee melodiche più intime.
Il basso corposo e cupo e una batteria incisiva articolano la struttura delle canzoni, nelle quali si respira un' anima particolarmente inquieta e una tensione che si libera nelle note arroventate delle composizioni.
Nei testi le parole cariche di simbolismo echeggiano e si diramano, lasciando all'ascoltatore la possibilità di interpretarle liberamente e di ritrovarsi in esse.
Lo stile ricercato fa convergere diverse influenze, dal noise al post punk, dal post rock all’ indie rock anni 90, con una vaga aura riconducibile ad un sound tipico della scena underground newyorkese.
La band al momento ha realizzato il suo primo album omonimo autoprodotto in uscita a marzo 2016, nel quale saranno presenti 9 brani.
Amaury Cambuzat (Ulan Bator, Faust) ha partecipato alle chitarre del brano Blue Grass.
Less than a cube is an Italian band formed by singer and guitarist Fabio Cubisino, singer and bassist Alessia Praticò and drummer Alessandro Mautino.
The band members come from past musical experiences where Fabio used to play in an indie rock band called Margaret, where he was the originator and founder. Alessia first used to play in Les Morceaux Anatomiques and Chloe after that, while Alessandro played in Cockpit for many years.
The band was founded in the winter of 2014 and despite all the members diverse type of musical backgrounds contaminations, they found themselves in their comfort zones.
Experiencing music together created an expressive sound impact, where the projects' sound personality and direction was born.
The dynamic and thunderous sounds are characterized by edgy and distorted guitars, at the same time capable of leaving the space for melodic lines, heavy and dark bass and incisive drums articulate the songs' structure, in which exudes a particularly restless spirit and a tension that is freed in red-hot notes of the arrangements.
In the lyrics, the words full of symbolism echo and branch out, leaving the space for the listener to interpret freely and find themselves in them.
The refined style, converges different influences, from noise to post punk, from post rock to 90s rock, with a vague attributable aura to a typical new york underground style sound.
At the moment the band has released it's first album omonimo, self-released coming out March 2016, in which there are 9 tracks.
Amaury Cambuzat (Ulan bator, Faust) is featured on guitars of the "blue grass" track.
