Biografia Lester And The Landslide Ladies
Lester and the Landslide Ladies nascono a Modena sul finire del 2002. Da subito l' intenzione della band è quella di mettere in musica se stessa e la realtà che la circonda. La voce narrante scelta è il rock più muscolare. Nella tradizione delle migliori band emiliane, le attitudini più diverse (rock, punk, glam, powerpop, garage, blues etc.) si mettono a disposizione della canzoni, creando un sound peculiare ed unico nel panorama underground italiano. In questo approccio il gruppo si sente affine allo spirito della scena di newyorchese della seconda metà degli anni settanta, da qui la risposta standard alla classica richiesta di collocazione "Dispersi da qualche parte tra Kiss e Ramones". L' incessante attività live, oltre 600 date negli ultimi 8 anni (Italia, Germania, Austria, Slovenia, Ungheria), le aperture per i gruppi più disparati dai New York Dolls ai Backyard Babies, dai Vibrators ai Cockney Rejects passando per vecchie e nuove glorie (Faster Pussycat, Hanoi Rocks, U.S. Bombs, Dogs D'Amour, Paul Collins Beat, L.A. Guns, EZN, Black Halos, Texas Terri Bomb, Tigertailz, Tuff etc.) non impediscono alla band di pubblicare quattro lavori in studio e un album live completamente composto da brani mai incisi prima. Ovviamente le attività del gruppo non si fermano qui: inclusi in svariate compilation e tributi, girano due videoclip, datati 2005 e 2008, di cui uno assieme alla crew di Mtv Gip, arrivano persino a diventare una tesi di laurea in sociologia, la prima in Italia, a tema musicale "Glam Rock: giochi di maschere e di performance" della dott.ssa Alimonte. Lester and the Landslide Ladies oggi sono ovviamente Lester, Vinn (ex E-motu, ex Jany James and the Bandits), Gak ( ex By All Means, ex Headed Nowhere etc.) ed il Leader (ex Lunacy Box, ex Missitalya) . Con questa formazione continuano a macinare chilometri su chilometri, live dopo live con totale dedizione ed entusiasmo. Questa scelta negli anni è valsa l'ammirazione e l'affetto di critica e pubblico. Oggi, sicuri di non essere soli, la band continua il suo viaggio alla conquista del mondo, una bettola alla volta.
