A sincere tribute to the music that raised these two Italian musicians. The focus on “how to play” rather than “what to play” is the real deal.
Essential arrangements, great interplay and lots of “breaths” is all you get, with no compromise.
The warm voice of Max Prandi joins the tempting notes of Lino Muoio’s mandolin for a rare experiential
journey into African American culture without unnecessary prejudices.
If you’re asking how guitar and mandolin sound together in a bluesy way, they are what you need…
Guitar and mandolin…two instruments, one voice.
Max Prandi and Lino Muoio are two of the most important Italian blues artists with more than two decades of performance on their side.
Max Prandi is a singer, guitarist and drummer form northern Italy, with a huge passion for the blues and all the black American music, from the ’50 till nowadays. He spent his entire career chasing the right sound and the right mood for every song he loved. Always focused on the fluency of the voice and the simplicity of the drumbeat. He is a true and sincere one-man band like no one in his country.
Lino Muoio is a guitarist, composer, and mandolinist from Neaples, the homeland of mandolin. He spent all his 25 years career looking for an unique fusion of his Mediterranean culture with the music he loves most.
Lino has recorded more than 35 records, including the Mandolin Blues series from 2010. He is an active member of the Corey Harris Trio and is publishing a book on the blues mandolin.
These two musicians share a long-life friendship, and you can hear this great feeling in all the records they made, including the latest “Outtakes from the tiny room”.
If you are looking for an “essential blues experience” with the particular sound of mandolin, this duo is what you can’t miss.
