The Electric Muse (I Wanna Know Why) è il nuovo singolo dei Monoscopes, in uscita il X novembre 2023 per Big Black Car Records, e anticipa il secondo disco della band Endcyclopedia, in uscita a gennaio 2024.
Perché si canta una canzone? Perché si scrive della musica? Che cosa si vuole, che cosa si ottiene? La Musa protagonista pone proprio questo interrogativo nella canzone, che vale per i Monoscopes come una vera e propria dichiarazione di intenti sia contenutistica che stilistica.
La musica è la ricerca di un senso nelle cose, e il gruppo padovano continua a portare avanti la miscela di rock, psichedelia e sensibilità pop che aveva portato il suo esordio Painkillers and Wine a riscuotere ottimi consensi di critica, anche oltremanica.
Il singolo è accompagnato da un video girato da Samuele Gottardello (aka Blak Sagaan), e da un lato B virtuale, la cavalcata noise The Evil That Men Do.
