Biografia Qube
The Qube project was born,died and then resurrected in autumn 2007. Coming from very different music experiences the four decide to melt their backgrounds to create a different sound,the more personal as possible,under the sign of research. With an intense work of rehearsal,along with a reckless use of effects,the band finds quickly his own identity that let off steam during live performances faced as rituals,over varied stages through italy. After a first nameless demo recorded at home,the band promotes from winter 2008 their first official work (Duo),wich contains embryos the future features of the project. From the hard and broken down rhythm sections to the claustrophobic sounds crossed by liquid and effected vocal lines. February 2011: Trio,the new d.i.y. record,is out..! Progressive and posthardcore veins melt down to an ambiente research with almost ethnic shades. The album is introduced at Viper Theatre in Florence, and then promoted live at Qua'Rock Festival (Empoli) and at the recent edition of Terra Futura. Then the band ,always looking for new issues, gets involved in the DreaMachine Night by Emiliano Fantechi, playing their sounds for the visual show based on the machine quoted by Burroughs and Genesis P.Orridge. Between the end of June and beginning of july Qube play again some summer shows in Sicily. Then back to Florence the band gets invited to open for O.B.O. on the great stage of Fortezza D'Estate (a summer florence festival), and then for the last evening of the festival the band plays again on the same stage a different electronic and experimental set. In september the band starts the research for new inspirations. ------------------------- Il progetto Qube nasce,muore e risorge tra primavera e autunno 2007. Provenienti da esperienze musicali molto diverse i quattro decidono di fondere i propri backgrounds in favore di un suono diverso,il più possibile personale,sotto il segno della sperimentazione. Complici l'intensa attività di sala prove e la quasi maniacale ricerca sonora, accompagnata da uno spericolato uso dell'effettistica, il gruppo raggiunge nel tempo una certa individualità che trova forte sfogo nelle performances dal vivo, sui più disparati palchi della penisola, affrontate quasi come un rito. Dopo un primo demo senza nome fabbricato in casa il gruppo promuove dall'inverno del 2008 il primo lavoro ufficiale (Duo), che contiene in embrione i tratti somatici caratteristici del progetto, dalla sezione ritmica predominante e scomposta ai suoni claustrofobici attraversati da voci liquide di effetti. A febbraio 2011 viene pubblicato Trio, disco autoprodotto, in cui vene più progressive e posthardcore si fondono ad una ricerca ambient con sfumature quasi etniche. L'album viene presentato al Viper Theatre di Firenze, e poi promosso live presso il Qua'Rock Festival di Empoli e l'ultima recentissima edizione di Terra Futura. Il gruppo poi, sempre alla ricerca di nuove sfide, partecipa anche allo spettacolo DreaMachine Night di Emiliano Fantechi presso il Teatro Distratto, sonorizzando con la propria musica l'installazione visiva basata sulla Macchina dei Sogni citata da Burroughs e Genesis P.Orridge. A cavallo tra giugno e luglio i Qube attraversano la Sicilia per un mini tour estivo. Sempre a luglio il gruppo viene richiesto per aprire agli storici O.B.O. sul palco della Fortezza D'Estate e per la serata di chiusura la band si cimenta sullo stesso palco con un'inedita performance di sperimentazione elettronica. A settembre la band inizia la ricerca verso nuove ispirazioni.
