Joe Bastianich & La Terza classe
"GOOD MORNING ITALIA," the first album by JOE BASTIANICH & LA TERZA CLASSE.
Eight songs + a ghost track (the one that gives the title to the entire album, the only one in Italian) in which engaging emotions are unleashed, arrangements that are able to combine with an imaginary thread American folk and bluegrass with the Neapolitan, Mediterranean tradition, and lyrics that speak of falls and rises, fear and courage, love and betrayals.
The project was born from the meeting between "The Restaurant Man" and the Neapolitan band, whom he met during the program "On the road" made for Sky Arte and hosted by Bastianich himself a few years ago.
Joe's boundless passion for American rock, blues, soul and folk music led him to confront and collaborate with "La Terza Classe," one of the few Italian musical entities that has been researching and composing music inspired by American folk since its foundation.
The meeting with producer Jex Sagristano was the last piece of a perfect fit in artistic and human terms, leading to the making of "Good Morning Italia".
Like all music and all art forms, Bluegrass was born from the meeting of different cultures. It does not raise barriers, on the contrary it definitely breaks them down. Born out of Scottish and Irish immigration to the United States in the early 20th century, from an early Celtic root it contaminated with gospel and blues, the sacred and the profane par excellence. The church and the street together. It is a rural music, a rib of the broader melting pot of Country, with which it shares string instruments and the need for purely acoustic sounds in order to express itself.
"Good Morning Italia" is a return gift between a character with Istrian roots (the Bastianichs were one of the countless families who left in search of fortune after World War II from a territory that was still Italian at the time) who in the States stubbornly wanted, sought and achieved success in the entrepreneurial field, and a band, La Terza Classe, that has been able to combine the love for its homeland with that of artistic inspiration, becoming a top-level entity
