DESCRIZIONE
Fireworks è la storia di due persone che si incontrano dopo molti anni. Davanti all'esplosione spettacolare di fuochi artificiali si riavvicinano, mentre li guardano da un vecchio ponte, sopra le luci di una grande città. Tutto sembra riportarli alla loro gioventù, ad un tempo in cui il loro legame era forte e speciale. Tutte le loro esperienze vissute ("Quante strade abbiamo incontrato, quante strade abbiamo percorso, quanti fiumi abbiamo attraversato" dice il testo) pare non li abbiano cambiati ("but we are still the same").
Ma dopo la notte passata insieme, forse qualcosa è cambiato, quelle esperienze pesano, sono due persone diverse: quello che doveva essere un nuovo inizio ("New path to start") diventa un addio ("We are not the same").
Fireworks è quindi una riflessione sul passato, sul tempo che scorre, sull'importanza dei rapporti adolescenziali, degli amori di gioventù che molte volte segnano per sempre le nostre vite.
E anche una riflessione sui cambiamenti, sul fatto che inevitabilmente tutto quello che facciamo e incontriamo nel nostro percorso ci segna indelebilmente, anche se noi crediamo di essere rimasti gli stessi.
Fireworks is the story of two people who meet after many years. They come close again while watching the fireworks from an old bridge with the spectacular explosions in front of them and the lights of the big city above. Everything seems to take them back to their youth, to a time when their bond was strong and special. It seems that all of their experiences ("How many people we met, how many roads have we travelled, hpw many rivers we crossed" says the song) have not changed them ("but we are still the same").
However, after spending the night together, perhaps something has changed, those experiences are a weight and they are different people: what should have been a new start ("New path to start") becomes a farewell ("We are not the same").
Fireworks is, therefore, a reflection on the past, about time passing, about the importance of adolescent relationships, of the loves during youth which often leave their mark on our lives forever.
It is also a reflection on the changes, on the fact that, inevitably, everything that we do and meet along our path indelibly marks us, even if we believe we are still the same.
