The Silent Way

The Silent Way è un lavoro molto introspettivo, dove sonorità melanconiche si alternano ad altre più
graffianti, non facendo mai perdere di vista l’immediatezza e la ricerca di armonie, prerogative da sempre
dei Welkin. Il titolo dell’opera rappresenta anche il tema ricorrente delle liriche, passando dal silenzio come
incapacità di parlare in Turn to me, al silenzio inteso come pace in My Enemy, a quello in Crossing in the
dark che è un generatore di ansie e preoccupazioni, fino ad arrivare a Nightmare dove il silenzio si può
addirittura sentire. The Silent Way rappresenta un lavoro maturo, a tratti pessimista, ma con un’apertura
ad un orizzonte più roseo.
Ogni componente del gruppo prende ispirazione da generi musicali diversi, ad esempio Rush, Karnivool, Therapy?, Labirinth, Metallica, Staind, oppure artisti come Mike Portnoy, Adrian Smith, James Hetfield e tanti altri. L’incontro dei vari generi musicali preferiti di ogni componente porta alla musica dei Welkin trovando il giusto compromesso tra melodia ed aggressività.

The Silent Way is an introspective work, where melancholic sonorities alternate with others more scratchy, never loosing site of the immediacy and the research of harmonies, which have always been among Welkin’s prerogatives. The title of the work represents also a recurring theme on the lyrics, moving from the silence as the inability to talk in Turn to me, to the silence ment as peace in My Enemy or to that in Crossing in the dark, which is a generator of anxiety and worries, until you get to Nightmare, in which you can even feel the silence. The Silent Way represents a mature work, sometimes pessimistic, but with a breach to a more peaceful end. Every band component is inspired by different music genres, such as Rush, Karnivool, Therapy?, Labirinth, Metallica, Staind, or by artists like Mike Portnoy, Adrian Smith, James Hetfield and many more. The meeting of the favourite musical genres of every team member leads to the music created by Welkin, which finds the right compromise between melody and aggression.
